DLT seeking Real Jobs R.I. partners

PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Department of Labor and Training is seeking employer partners for the Real Jobs Rhode Island program, the department announced Monday evening.

The federally funded, competitive workforce and economic development grant program allows employers to partner with the state and other entities to meet their workforce needs and advance the skills of existing workers.

The program includes placing employees into job openings, further developing current employees, helping business owners and entrepreneurs grow their ventures, and creating a workforce pipeline going forward.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 22. The DLT is hosting a pre-proposal conference Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at its offices at 1511 Pontiac Ave., building 72-1, Cranston.
