PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Department of Administration has announced the hiring of Marc A. Leonetti as state controller.
He will replace Lawrence Franklin, the state controller for the past 22 years, who recently announced plans to retire.
Leonetti – a Cumberland resident – has most recently served as chief financial officer at the R.I. Department of Transportation. He will take over the $105,000-per-year position on June 23.
In a news release last week, Department of Administration Director Jerome F. Williams lauded Leonetti, stating that he “brings a superior background in finance and accounting to the broad spectrum of financial elements” to the department. •
