A representative of EAPD declined to disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
“The merger came about as a logical outgrowth of the practice of both firms,” said Stephen Meredith, partner in EAPD’s business law department. “While we do the corporate work on dozens of communications industry deals every year, we have never been able to offer FCC regulatory expertise, which is handled almost exclusively by lawyers based in Washington, D.C.”
EAPD opened its Washington, D.C., offices in 2007; its Rhode Island client roster includes CVS, Textron, GTECH and Hasbro.
“EAPD has a long-standing reputation for representing a variety of prominent communications companies in complex transactions. Those clients and others will benefit immediately from Fleischman and Harding’s expertise, particularly in regulatory and legislative issues,” said Walter Reed, the managing partner of EAPD, in a news release on Feb. 1.
Fleischman and Harding represents well-known clients in cable television, broadcast radio, TV, Internet and wireless companies, including: Cable One, Mediacom, Time Warner Cable and WorldNet Telecommunications, among others.
