CRANSTON – Federal Electronics Inc. has received the ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100 Revision B certification.
The ISO 9001 is part of the family of quality-management standards maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization. (ISO is not an acronym but rather a reference to the Greek word for “equal.”)

The AS9100 certification is the current version of the standards specifically for the international aerospace industry.
“Earning the AS9100 certification highlights Federal Electronics’ commitment to our high reliability customers in military, aerospace, homeland security, medical and high-end industrial markets,” said Edward Evangelista, the company’s vice president.
“With this significant accomplishment and validation, all of our customers can be even more confident that our Quality Management System meets the highest standards of quality, standards that are recognized throughout the world,” Evangelista added.
Federal Electronics manufacturers electronics components such as circuit boards and fiber-optic interconnects for use by companies that make larger products, including Raytheon.
The company also recently announced that it has received International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) certification from the U.S. State Department, certifying that the company adheres to rules controlling the export and import of weapons products.
