Federal tax credits approved
for King Street Commons

PROVIDENCE – A Low Income Housing Tax Credit application for King Street Commons has been approved, according to the community-based development agency that is spearheading the $17 million project.

ONE Neighborhood Builders announced the project funding approval on Wednesday. The project will involve 30 new affordable apartments and the preservation of 32 affordable units.

Located at King and Salmon streets in the city’s Olneyville neighborhood, the project will include construction of four Head Start classrooms, as well as the residential units.

Construction funds will come from the federal tax credit, R.I. Housing and Mortgage Finance Corp. and the Housing Resource Commission.
