Feinstein in contract dispute over theater

PROVIDENCE – The Feinstein Foundation is in a contract dispute involving its namesake movie theater. The IMAX Corporation sold the Providence Place mall location to Quincy Amusements, the Dedham, Mass.-based parent of Showcase Cinemas.
In a statement, Alan Shawn Feinstein accused Quincy Amusements of unwillingness to continue several contractual items the foundation had agreed to with IMAX. Without specifying which portions of the agreement would be discontinued, Feinstein noted the foundation and IMAX had a contract that include naming rights, free admissions for local school children and their parents, on-screen dedications to students for their good deeds and a yearly donation to help fight hunger.
In an interview last week, Feinstein said that he had filed suit in U.S. District Court looking to force Quincy Amusements to uphold the contract, which ran through 2010. &#8226
