Fidelity Investments recently sent more than 250 employee volunteers from its Rhode Island Regional Center for the second annual Transformation Day at Providence’s Roger Williams Middle School. The day of service, which was held with Serve Rhode Island, a HandsOn Network local action center, was one of 10 such events being held across the country as part of Fidelity’s partnership with HandsOn Network.
“I am always impressed by the generosity and spirit of Fidelity’s volunteers,” said John Muggeridge, vice president of public affairs at Fidelity. “Their work helps to strengthen our communities and showcase our talented and caring employees.”
At Roger Williams Middle School, volunteers participated in a variety of projects, including landscaping, constructing planter benches, repainting classrooms and creating a school mural.
“Muggeridge added, “[Providence Mayor Angel Taveras] and the school’s principal [Brearn Wright] were touched by the work that was done.” •
