BOSTON – First Trade Union Bank, a full-service bank with offices in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York, says it has received the Massachusetts Lender of the Quarter Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
First Trade Union Bank received the award after approving 11 SBA-backed loans in the first quarter of this year, up from three loan approvals for the fourth quarter of 2009.
The bank, which was granted SBA preferred lender status in November, had five SBA loan approvals for all of 2009.
The award “represents the commitment First Trade has shown in serving the small business community,” said Anina Butler, First Trade Union’s vice president of SBA lending. “We will continue to work with those in need of SBA financing to help make their financial dreams a reality.”
First Trade Union Bank is a community bank based in Boston, with offices in Warwick and Hauppauge, N.Y., The bank has $23.26 million in deposits in Rhode Island, according to the FDIC. Additional information is available at www.ftub.com.
