NORWALK, Conn. – In its 20th annual Power Broker Report, real estate publisher RISMedia Inc. lists four Rhode Island brokerages among the top 700 residential real estate offices nationwide and ranks another as one of the nation’s fastest-growing.

The average number of transactions last year at the 700 top firms was 1,100 fewer than in 2006, RISMedia found. Their total sales fell more than $100 billion, to $749.2 billion in 2007 from $855.8 billion the year before.
