PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. will introduce its self-service instant-ticket vending system at the World Lottery Association Trade Show beginning Oct. 31 in Brisbane, Australia.
The ticket delivery system is designed to improve the reliability of lottery self-service vending by using one motorized mechanism per bin.
Other instant-ticket vending machines share mechanical components across an entire row of instant ticket machines, so a failure in one bin can impact the other bins in that row, the company said in a news release on Oct. 29.
GTECH’s system keeps each bin separate and also accommodates a wider range of ticket types and uses dust-proof sensors. The modules can also be updated remotely.
“The single burster is one of most significant innovations to take place in lottery self service in the last decade, and its inclusion in our latest family of self-service terminals will provide material benefits to the lotteries we serve,” said Donald L. Stanford, GTECH technology fellow.
The new system will initially be deployed in the small-footprint Gemini Compact.
