GTECH gives computer lab to Providence school

PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. this month added a new site to its After School Advantage program, which serves at-risk children throughout the United States who may not have the same access to computers as their peers.
The company set up a new lab at the Providence Interim Middle School, equipped with new desks and chairs, a work table, five new computers, a color printer and three digital cameras. The lab was also freshly painted and decorated by GTECH employees.
Students in the fifth through eighth grades will use the lab to learn computer skills, complete class projects and pursue other educational opportunities. Students will also work on monthly newsletters with digital photography.
“In an age where technology plays a vital role in the education of young people in our society, we are proud to make this investment in their future,” said Robert Vincent, GTECH vice president of corporate communications.
