GTECH opens computer lab at library branch

PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. recently opened a $15,000 After School Advantage Computer Lab at the Mount Pleasant branch of the Providence Community Library, the latest lab the locally based lottery giant has installed under an agreement with the library system.
The lab features eight Dell flat-panel computers, new computer workstations and chairs, a digital printer and educational software and will provide youngsters with homework assistance during the after-school hours.
The After School Advantage lab at Mount Pleasant Community Library is the 134th that GTECH has built since the nationwide program began in 1999.
GTECH said the program aims to narrow the “digital divide” between affluent Americans and minorities, low-income households and single-parent families. &#8226
