Health care organizations sponsor symposium on the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act

PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Medical Society, the Hospital Association of Rhode Island and Healthcentric Advisor are hosting a symposium on MACRA, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act, which establishes a new payment program.

The June 20 MACRA symposium will provide expert guidance to help attendees better understand the quality payment program, the impact on health care providers and how they can best prepare. A panel of local health care professionals will discuss their concerns and how they’re preparing. It will be held at the New England Institute of Technology, Room S330, 1 New England Tech Boulevard, East Greenwich.

Registration and networking runs from 7:30-8 a.m.; from 8-9 a.m., Leila Volinsky, program administrator, Massachusetts, Healthcentric Advisors, will address the mechanisms of MACRA reporting.

From 10:20-11:50 a.m., Dr. Hollmann, chief medical officer, University Medicine will moderate a panel on Rhode Island responses and perspectives. Dr. Alan Kurose, president and CEO, Coastal Medical; Ann Kashmanian, CFO & compliance officer, University Medicine; and Lauren Capizzo, director, practice transformation, Healthcentric Advisors are the panelists.
