Herreid named new associate at Residential

Sally Herreid has been named sales associate in the Wickenden Street office of Residential Properties Ltd. Herreid, who was licensed in real estate in January 2009, has more than 13 years experience as a mortgage banker in the financial industry. Herreid will serve the Providence area, including the East Side, Edgewood, Rumford and Oak Hill. She has a B.A. in economics from St. Lawrence University.

PBN: As a mortgage banker, you have a background in financing, investment properties and renovation.
HERREID: One of the great benefits of having provided financing for hundreds of properties in the Providence area is the knowledge base. Many factors make deals come together in the interests of both buyers and sellers and there are many lenses used by buyers and sellers for determining value and fit. Some buyers need to be given the vision of value after a renovation. Other buyers need to better understand the nature of cash flow, depreciation and maintenance expectations.

PBN: What are you looking forward to in your new position at Residential Properties?
HERREID: The transition to real estate sales was a natural move for me. Between my time in mortgage banking and beginning my career in real estate, I was raising my three girls and doing volunteer work. During this time, I found myself attracted to real estate. I would hunt for houses for friends, and when serving on the board at the French American School, I wound up putting together the deal to buy the school building from the Catholic diocese. I really love the process of learning what people are looking for and helping them to see how the deal could be put together.

PBN: What are some particular characteristics and qualities of the Rhode Island neighborhoods you currently serve?
HERREID: I mainly serve the East Side, Oak Hill, Rumford and Edgewood, as I know these areas best, but truly there are no boundaries. I’m currently working with a client formerly interested in the East Side. We then investigated the West Side and we will soon be closing on a home in Cumberland. In today’s market you have to be willing to do whatever it takes – or go wherever you need to go – to find the right property for a client. Each of the neighborhoods in which I work has such variety, with single family homes, multi families, condos, owner-occupied and investment properties. •
