It’s good business to comply with fire code

Businesses have paid a steep price for the state adopting one of the nation’s toughest fire codes in the aftermath of the deadly 2003 fire at The Station nightclub. The cost of installing sprinklers, alarms and other fire-safety measures has been a heavy burden for many who operate in buildings often built for other uses.
