The U.S. Green Building Council – Rhode Island Chapter (Chapter) will celebrate the success of its third year in operation at its Annual Members’ Meeting March 21st at the New England Institute of Technology in East Greenwich, RI.
Members and guests will be treated to a tour of New England Tech’s newest academic building designed to the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver standard. The event will also showcase a gallery of some of the best green building projects in Rhode Island.

John Kelly, Vice Chair of the I-195 Redevelopment District and President/CEO, Meeting Street, will keynote the event. Kelly oversaw the development of Meeting Street’s $25 million South Providence campus which resulted in over 180 jobs moving to South Providence (with an additional 40 jobs added since its relocation). Meeting Street is a LEED-certified facility with plans to expand. Kelly will update attendees on the work of the I-195 commission. The Chapter’s advocacy agenda clearly articulates a vision for greening Providence’s Knowledge District which adjoins the Route 195 parcels.
