Knead Doughnuts expands into larger commercial kitchen, plans third shop

PROVIDENCE – The artisan doughnut company Knead Doughnuts has expanded its production into a 5,000-square-foot commercial kitchen at the Providence Kitchen Collaborative, formerly the food incubator Pilotworks, according to a news release.

The move will allow the company to create more of its gourmet treats, and add more seasonal flavors, the announcement said.

A third retail store will be opened at the collaborative, at 55 Cromwell St., in May.

Knead established itself downtown with a shop at 32 Custom House in December 2016. A second location in the Wayland Square area of the East Side opened in April 2018.

The Providence Kitchen Collaborative, which occupies the space of the former Pilotworks shared kitchen space, is expected to open soon, according to its website.
