MIDDLETOWN – KVH Industries Inc. said it received an order valued at more than $3.7 million for its TACNAV TLS tactical navigation system by an international customer on April 18.
The systems will upgrade existing light-armored vehicles already in the field and will be shipped in the second quarter 2011, KVH said.

TACNAV systems are already in use on U.S. and allied vehicles in Afghanistan, Iraq and other locations.
Separately, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems named KVH a recipient of the 2010 Five Start Supplier Excellence Award on April 21.
Raytheon chose 14 companies out of its more than 12,000 suppliers; the award is given to companies’ that achieve 100 percent on-time delivery, providing product with 100 percent quality record and implementing a robust internal improvement program, KVH said.
KVH supplies Raytheon with fiber optic gyro sensors as well as inertial measurement units.
