Offers 2011-2012 Learn with Leaders Series

Providence, RI (September 27, 2011) United Way of Rhode Island’s Young Leaders Circle (YLC) announces the speakers for the 2011-2012 “Learn with Leaders” series. These professional development events are an opportunity to meet with Rhode Island leaders in an up-close and informal setting. Past speakers include executives from Hasbro, Rhode Island School of Design, Citizens Financial Group, and the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation.

“The Young Leaders Circle Learn with Leaders series provides the unique opportunity for young professionals to broaden their perspective, network, and engage with business, government, and non-profit leaders in topics that matters to today’s young professionals,” said Brian Angell, Chair of the Young Leaders Circle.

This year’s series kicks off at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 with “Everything You Do in Life Counts – 5 Rules for Achieving Great Work-Life Balance” with guest speaker, Brian Butler, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at The Allied Group, Cranston, RI. Future speakers include:

• November 2011, Ed Cooley, Coach of the PC Friars. Theme: “How to Engage and Lead a Team.”
• January 2012 – Adeola Oredola, Executive Director, Youth in Action, Theme: “Empowering Others to Lead.”
• February 2012 – Providence Mayor Angel Taveras – Theme: “Head Start to Harvard” platform and how early childhood education made a difference in his life.”
• April 2012 – Panel Discussion: Theme: “Being Creative and Thinking Outside of the Box to Succeed.”

• June 2012, Connie Howes, President & CEO, Women & Infants Hospital – Theme: “Getting Involved and Connecting With Others in Your Community.”
