Lincoln among FSB ‘Best Places to Live and Launch’

LINCOLN – The Town of Lincoln has been ranked among the nation’s “100 Best Places to Live and Launch” by Fortune Small Business Magazine, Town Administrator T. Joseph Almond said today.
Lincoln ranked 63rd overall in FSB’s analysis of 296 metropolitan areas nationwide. Rankings were based on each region’s job growth, tax rates, crime rates, health care facilities, housing costs and cultural offerings. The full report appears in this month’s issue of the magazine.
“The selection process identified communities that offer a great business environment combined with alluring leisure,” Almond said.
“Lincoln was recognized for its promotion of economic opportunities related to tax rates, innovative tax credits, economic incentives, job growth, proximity to urban amenities and airline travel. While attracting responsible business growth, the town has maintained its natural beauty and rural character, providing residents and visitors [with] abundant leisure resources, parks, good schools and safe neighborhoods.
“This prestigious recognition would not have been possible without the efforts, foresight and planning of prior elected officials and the recent tax incentives introduced in the State of Rhode Island,” the town administrator added. “I am confident we can continue to expand our tax base through responsible business growth and preserve the character of our community.”
