Local news websites launch

EAST PROVIDENCE – Website redesign, consulting and research business Creative Circle Media Solutions launched a number of local news websites in the past month.
New websites for Beacon Communications’ three newspapers – Warwick Beacon, Cranston Herald and Johnston Sunrise – all went live last week.
Creative Circle also launched RhodyBeat.com, a site displaying the top-scored stories from those three newspapers. Stories are scored by views, user rankings, comments and emails, allowing readers to determine the site’s top stories.
“We think printed newspapers will be around for some time, but it’s important that newspapers have successful web sites as well,” said Creative Circle President Bill Ostendorf.
Last month, Creative Circle also launched ReporterToday.com, which compiles local news from East Providence, Rehoboth and Seekonk. Creative Circle has an office in Seekonk.
Creative Circle also recently unveiled new websites for two Wyoming newspapers, the Gillette News Record and the Rock Springs Daily Rocket-Miner.
