Local physician recognized for life achievements

Dr. Brian Zink, emergency medicine physician-in-chief at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital, has been chosen for the 2007 Hal Jayne Academic Excellence Award from the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
The award is presented to a member who has made outstanding contributions to emergency medicine through research, education and scholarly accomplishments. Candidates are evaluated on their lifelong accomplishments, including classroom and bedside training; scholarly works; recognitions or awards by students, residents and peers; and original research published in peer-reviewed journals.
The award will be presented in May at the society’s annual meeting in Chicago.
