WOONSOCKET – Research and data-mining company Location Inc. announced last week it has released a new product to help homeowners, buyers, sellers, renters and real estate professionals assess neighborhoods.

NeighborhoodScout Reports assembles neighborhood statistics, including crime rates, home-value trends, lifestyle characteristics and school ratings into one report.

“Now, before you buy a home or other property, you can buy a report to know if the schools are good, if the address is safe, and more,” said Andrew Schiller, founder and president of Woonsocket-based Location Inc. “You no longer have to run the risk of buying or renting in a neighborhood with hidden problems [such as] crime, school [issues] or declining home values.”

Location Inc. has provided its NeighborhoodScout search engine since the company’s founding in 2002, allowing subscribers to use keyword and lifestyle searches to find neighborhoods they might like. NeighborhoodScout Reports builds on the NeighborhoodScout search engine by accessing 100 new data points in compiling each report.

“In a number of ways, NeighborhoodScout Reports is like CARFAX for neighborhoods, and CARFAX has proven to be a very valuable service to consumers and commercial car buyers alike,” said Jack Kern, managing director at Kern Investment Research LLC.

Location Inc. specializes in location analysis and decision-making tools as well as demographic and school data-information products. The company gained national attention last year when its list of the nation’s 100 best and worst schools was posted on AOL.com.
