LITERACY VOLUNTEERS OF KENT COUNTY
CELEBRATES 35TH ANNIVERSARY GALA
Coventry, Rhode Island – April 14, 2015– On April 30, 2015 at the Warwick Museum of Art, Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) will be hosting a Gala in celebration of thirty-five years of service to Kent County. The event will take place from 6 -9 p.m., tickets are $35, and is being sponsored by Walgreen’s of Coventry.
Rhode Island’s very own champion of all things literary, Robin Kall of Reading With Robin, will be our guest of honor. The evening includes beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction. There are over thirty-five items to be auctioned, ranging from hand carved cribbage boards and dog grooming/boarding services to a Swarovski ring and a Sakonnet Vineyards wine tasting. Our many generous donors are the key to our success and make it possible for LVKC to continue to match trained tutors with students needing help in reading, writing, and speaking English. Literacy Volunteers of Kent County, Inc. (LVKC) is an accredited non-profit affiliate of ProLiteracy, Inc. with 501(c) 3 status. We train volunteers to tutor adults whose limited English literacy skills prevent them from functioning effectively in their homes, workplaces, communities, or as citizens of the United States. Tutoring by volunteers is free of charge, is confidential, and is typically done on a one-to-one basis.
