Marriott completes renovations

The Newport Marriott announced Monday it completed renovations to its meeting rooms and Grand Ballroom.
The hotel in downtown historic Newport includes 16 meeting rooms with accompanying hallways and bathrooms. All told, the hotel said it remodeled 24,800 square feet of space and added a video conferencing area, which enables groups to interact with offsite locations via two-way video and audio transmission link.
“We are excited to share this beautifully renovated space with our loyal group business and social event customers,” General Manager Walter Andrews said in a statement. “Our multi-million dollar renovation project was several years in the making, but we think the final results speak for themselves. Together with the new Spa at the Newport Marriott, which opened this summer, our hotel has never been better positioned to serve the needs of our guests and the Newport community.”
The renovated area includes golden walls, white panel moulding, custom carpets and contemporary-styled light fixtures.
