2. Southcoast Health CEO Hovan remains in leadership role after assault charge POSTED ONLINE: NOV. 9. Southcoast Health System Inc. CEO and President Keith A. Hovan was arrested Nov. 6 at his home in Rochester, Mass., on a charge of domestic assault and battery. He was arraigned in Wareham District Court on Nov. 8 and pleaded not guilty to an assault charge. After PBN reached out to Southcoast, a spokesman from Boston public relations firm Solomon McCown & Cence told PBN Hovan remains in his capacity as CEO and president. (Editor’s Note: Hovan has since taken a leave of absence. 3. CVS to close 900 stores over three years POSTED ONLINE: NOV. 18. CVS Health Corp. announced plans to close approximately 900 stores nationwide over the next three years beginning in the spring of 2022. The Woonsocket-based company cited changes in population, consumer-buying patterns and future health care needs. The company, which operates approximately 10,000 stores nationwide, did not identify where the closings will take place or if Rhode Island stores will be affected.

4. At Quonset port, supply chain problems of a different kind POSTED ONLINE: NOV. 5. The Port of Davisville at Quonset Point in North Kingstown is feeling the impact of pandemic-related supply chain disruptions in a much different way. Automobile imports, which comprise 95% of the port’s inbound traffic, were down by more than 25% in 2020 compared with 2019, said Quonset Development Corp. Managing Director Steven J. King, and 2021 has been much slower than 2020.

5. Amazon 4-star brick-and-mortar store coming to Providence Place POSTED ONLINE: NOV. 29.
