The agreement includes pay increases for faculty of 2.5% per year for each year of the contract, effective Jan. 1. The deal also includes “regionally competitive starting salary” for newest faculty and “mandatory promotion and tenure” for new faculty hired effective July 1, 2020, the release states.
In a statement Thursday, CCRI President Megan Hughes said that she is pleased the contract was approved and believes it “reflects the college’s commitment to our faculty and the critical role they play in our students’ success.” Timothy DelGiudice, chair of the R.I. Council on Postsecondary Education, said in a statement the agreement “fairly compensates” CCRI’s faculty and staff “while being affordable for the state.”
