Nominations sought for R.I. ‘Driving Forces’

Providence Business News is seeking nominations of people who have played an integral role in shaping Rhode Island over the past 25 years.
Selected nominees will be profiled in PBN’s 25th anniversary edition, to be published May 30. The 144-page book will celebrate and explore the last quarter century in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Mass., with a special emphasis on the state’s businesses and business leaders. The book will include a timeline of the seminal events in the past 25 years, short stories with updates on Main Street businesses PBN profiled during that time, in-depth stories about the state’s economy and how it has evolved, collections of Top Lists from the time period, a listing of all winners in PBN’s business and people award competitions, reader-generated content and essays from business leaders.
For the “Driving Forces” section, we plan to profile those people who – through their achievements, commitment, leadership or innovative ideas – have left an indelible mark in the community. Driving Forces can be pioneers in their field, mentors whose students have gone on to make their own marks, key players in pivotal events, even people whose full impact may not yet have been appreciated.
Nominations will be accepted from a wide range of economy sectors, including but not limited to: banking and finance, creative economy, education and work force, energy, environment, government, hospitality and tourism, real estate, small business and technology. They can be business owners, politicians, educators or people who are not well- known outside of their field but have had a lasting impact on the state.
Please send the name of the nominee, a brief description of how he/she has been a “Driving Force” in Rhode Island, including your relationship to him/her, to editor@pbn.com by March 15.
