PROVIDENCE – Just in time for Valentine’s Day, two Rhode Island eateries were named to the OpenTable 2018 Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America list, announced Tuesday.
OpenTable, an online restaurant reservation company, which said the list was based on 12 million user reviews on 26,000 restaurants, included Gracie’s in Providence and Newport’s Bouchard Restaurant and Inn in its top honors.
The honor isn’t new for either Ocean State restaurant; Gracie’s was the only Rhode Island establishment to make the list in 2017 while Bouchard Restaurant and Inn was the only Rhode Island restaurant to make the list in 2016.
“Be it February 14th or any time you want to connect with someone in your life, this year’s winning restaurants have created the ideal spots for intimate dining experiences,” said Caroline Potter, OpenTable chief dining officer, in a statement that accompanied the announcement of winners.
“Valentine’s Day is all about sharing food with loved ones,” added Potter. “Whether enjoyed with a significant other, a friend or with family, a delicious meal accompanied by elegant ambiance and superb service is the perfect way to celebrate.”
Massachusetts also had two restaurants on the list, The Ocean House Restaurant – Cape Cod in Dennisport, Mass., and Pellana in Peabody, Mass.
North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia topped the list this year with eight top 100 ranked restaurants on the list each.
