PACE Organization of Rhode Island names Luo to board of directors

PROVIDENCE – PACE Organization of Rhode Island has added Dr. John Z. Luo to its board of directors.

Luo is the founder and president of Doctor’s Choice, a Medicare consultancy advising retirees in 22 states. Since founding the company in 2013, Luo has been honored with the PBN 40 Under Forty award for innovation in health care.

PACE, founded in 1971 in San Francisco, is a health plan that helps provide home-based, long-term care for the elderly, with the goal of preserving the independence of older adults with chronic health needs and who wish to stay in their communities.

PACE health care and support services include primary care, access to specialists, prescription drugs and durable medical equipment, dental care, 24-hour emergency services, home care, transportation to all medical appointments, meals, as well as physical, speech, occupational and respiratory therapies.

Luo also serves on the board of directors of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, and is chairman of the board of the Rhode Island Parent Information Network. Luo is a graduate of Brown University and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
