Rebecca E. Dupras, an attorney with Pannone Lopes Devereaux & West LLC (PLDW), has been invited to serve on the Advisory Board of Central High School’s new Law & Public Safety Perkins Program of Study. The program, launched in the 2010/2011 school year, provides Central High School students an opportunity to learn about and prepare for a career in law and public safety. Students that meet the educational requirements will get transferrable course credit from Roger Williams University.

The Advisory Board of Central High School’s new Law & Public Safety Perkins Program of Study is comprised of community leaders, such as Ms. Dupras, and members of the Rhode Island State Police, Providence Police Department, Providence Fire Department, Providence Emergency Management Agency & Office of Homeland Security, Rhode Island School Board and Roger Williams University.

Ms. Dupras, a founding member of the American Bar Association’s Championing Our Students (ABA COS) initiative and Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division (ABA YLD), Committee on Public Education, will utilize her knowledge, skills and ability to successfully mentor young adults to help recruit and educate ambitious Central High School students about career paths in law and public safety.

Ms Dupras is an experienced lawyer in the practice areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, and probate litigation. She earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island. Ms. Dupras is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Center of Rhode Island.
