Where do you see yourself in five years? At Johnson & Wales University continuing to work with students both in and outside of the classroom. I also hope to continue to give back to the community through volunteer work.
What was your first job? I worked for Robert’s Automotive doing any job assigned to me. Along with learning the value of a dollar, I also learned how to change my oil and tires so I didn’t have to rely on others.
What advice would you give your 22-year-old self? Always keep things in perspective and don’t sweat the small stuff.
What moment changed your life more than any other? When my daughter, Victoria, was born.
What led you to pursuing a career in your current industry? I was a teaching assistant at Northeastern University and my assigned professor had suggested I continue to get my [doctorate] and go into teaching. At the time I was only interested in starting my career in accounting. While working, I often found myself falling into a teaching or mentoring role with others I worked with. Eventually I decided I wanted to pursue teaching and was hired as an accounting professor for JWU. I love being in the classroom and working with students, so I am happy I made the transition into teaching.
