PC helps to establish religious-studies center

PROVIDENCE – Providence College and Cultural Experiences Abroad Global Education (CEA), have reached a three-year, study-abroad agreement to establish the CEA/Providence College Center for Theology and Religious Studies in Rome.
The center will combine PC’s emphasis on the liberal arts and religious tradition with Tempe, Ariz.-based CEA’s student admissions and academic-management support. PC will oversee the curriculum and appoint a faculty resident director each year. The center, which will target undergraduates from U.S. colleges and universities, will begin admitting students in fall 2011. The center also will serve as a resource for faculty research.
The center will be housed at Villa Ferretti, a historic villa located in Rome’s Nomentana area. Students will live in nearby apartments. &#8226
