Plowden to be honored with RIMTA’s 2018 Anchor Award

NEWPORT – Susan Maffei Plowden will receive the 2018 Anchor Award for her role as stopover director for the Volvo Ocean Race Newport, the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association announced Tuesday.

The honor will be bestowed upon Plowden at RIMTA’s Annual Industry Partnership Breakfast during the Newport International Boat Show on Sept. 15, at the Newport Yachting Center’s Bohlin Tent at 8 a.m.

The breakfast will feature a panel discussion moderated by Clean Ocean Access Executive Director Dave McLaughlin.

All ticketed guests to the Breakfast receive free admittance to the Newport International Boat Show immediately following the event.
