Prepare for the worst on cybercrime

Cyber-related crimes have become almost daily news locally and across the country because their prevalence is rising. FBI-confirmed internet crime cases jumped 28% in 2023, to 1,425, in Rhode Island compared with 2021, costing businesses and residents an estimated $46 million. Nationwide, confirmed cases jumped 83% from 2019 to 2023, costing the public $12.5 billion.
