PROVIDENCE – Provdotnet LLC, a regional data center and co-location services firm, has partnered with Australian network provider Megaport Ltd. to power its new cloud connectivity service, IronTrust Networks LLC.

The partnership, announced Monday, enables Provdotnet to offer high-speed cloud connectivity for New England clients through its data centers and internet exchange hubs in Providence, Boston and Chelmsford, Mass.

“Today’s announcement builds on our momentum in extending the cloud to key markets in New England and providing these services to anyone in the fast-growing Northeast region,” said Ronald Sacks, CEO of Provdotnet and IronTrust Networks, in a release. “We are extremely pleased to work with Megaport and other regional partners to bring this critical capability to this incredibly innovative market.”

Megaport’s dynamic, global carrier network extends across the Asia-Pacific region as well as North America and Europe, connecting 150 data centers in 27 cities throughout 19 countries. Powered by Megaport’s global network, Provdotnet and IronTrust’s cloud on-ramp service links customers throughout New England to major cloud providers and data centers worldwide, via a private, secure direct connection.

In addition, regional cloud providers based in New England can use IronTrust’s Connect-Your-Cloud service to offer direct high-speed connection to customers who use their local cloud platforms.

“With thousands of technology companies exploring their own cloud development and deployment, our services provide them the ability to direct-connect to their customers globally,” said Evan Sacks, general manager of IronTrust. “The availability of these cloud on-ramp services in Provdotnet’s and IronTrust Networks’ facilities further strengthen the region’s technical infrastructure, which has grown in importance as…technology leaders continue to move into [the] Northeast.”

The launch of IronTrust complements Provdotnet’s existing Internet IP connectivity and cloud services. In December 2016, the company completed an ultra-low-latency fiber-optic network to link its data centers in Providence and Massachusetts and tap into the Massachusetts Internet Exchange, which connects telecommunications providers across the Boston metro area.

Evan Sacks concluded that Provdotnet and IronTrust will continue to focus on cloud-based services, building on the company’s partnership with the Massachusetts Internet Exchange to help its enterprise customers expand their reach and access the performance, stability and security benefits of cloud technology.
