A native of Los Angeles, Dunbar and his wife, Irene, live in Wrentham, Mass. They have four grown children and three grandchildren.
Dunbar was with PBN as advertising director from its inception until 1992, when he went to Boston as advertising director at Banker & Tradesman. Following a stint as advertising director at The Improper Bostonian magazine, Dunbar returned to PBN in April 1997.
Dunbar said the decision to return to PBN was an easy one. The paper occupies an important niche, he said, in Southeastern New England.
“Beyond that, Providence has become a wonderful place to work,” said Dunbar.
And PBN, he said, is a success story of which he is proud to be a part.
“Roger has made a real commitment to grow this paper,” said Dunbar. “I’m thrilled to be a part of that. You can see the growth in our staffing levels, our High Technology Monthly and in circulation, which is at an all-time high. These are all encouraging signs.”
