Purvis to update D.C. fire-safety systems

MIDDLETOWN – Purvis Systems Incorporated signed a $2.63 million contract with the District of Columbia to install its Fire Station Alerting System in 37 buildings, including 33 fire stations and the Public Safety Command Center.
Purvis supplies technology systems for the public safety, emergency management and defense industries.
The District of Columbia’s current a radio communications system will be replaced with Purvis’ internet protocol system, which allows dispatchers to speak with on-the-scene emergency personnel.
“The Purvis Fire Station Alerting System, backed by our strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction, will reliably deliver fast and accurate information to the men and women of the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department so that they can focus on what they do best – protecting the lives and property of the residents and visitors in our nation’s capital,” said Purvis CEO Michael Lepanto in a statement.
Purvis will partner with Jamestown-based Integrated Management Solution for management, testing and training and Washington, D.C.-based DataNet Systems Corporation for technology installation and maintenance.
Purvis’ clients include the New York City Fire Department, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport and the National Institutes of Health, which are based in Maryland.
