Raimondo’s approval rating declined, but not as much as her disapproval rating increased in the first quarter. Her approval rating fell 1 percentage point from the fourth quarter of 2017 to 39 percent. However, Raimondo’s approval rating was still the 10th-lowest approval rating of any governor in the poll.
Mass. Gov. Charlie Baker had the highest approval rating of any governor in the nation at 71 percent. Gov. Kay Ivey of Alabama had the lowest disapproval rating at 15 percent, followed closely by Baker.
All top 10 approval ratings were for Republican governors. Six of the 10 governors with the highest disapproval ratings were Republicans, while three were Democrats and one was an Independent.
