The Westin Providence was selected as the host hotel; the Biltmore, Hilton and Marriott Courtyard are backup hotels.
“A host city’s local economy typically reaps at least $1 million in ancillary benefits from this conference, not including the benefit to the convention center or the preferred hotel,” said Rhode Island Lottery Director Gerald Aubin in announcing the selection on Nov. 21.
“While we at the Lottery have much work ahead, we are extremely excited to have this opportunity to showcase the beauty of Providence and the Ocean State to so many people from all around the world,” Aubin said.
The organization anticipated 600 hotel rooms will be needed during peak nights as well as 40,000 square feet of trade show space.
NASPL is a trade association of 52 lotteries, national and international.
