NEWPORT – The Southeastern New England Educational and Charitable Foundation donated $96,000 to Salve Regina University’s Noreen Stonor Drexel program in cultural and historic preservation to fund a collection of projects across the state and the establishment of an annual preservation lecture series, according to a Wednesday statement by the school.

Sharon Grills Jackson, the president of the Southeastern New England Educational and Charitable Foundation and daughter of the late former owner and operator of the Bradford Dyeing Association textile mill, has a family connection to the industry.

  • A two-year compilation of National Register of Historic Places nominations for the Annaquatucket and Daniel Drive mills – two 19th century textile mill sites in North Kingstown.
  • Expand the school’s 3D digital documentation capabilities through the purchase of two computer workstations, two 3D printers and a small aerial drone with a high resolution digital camera.
  • Six new paid internships for Salve students enrolled in the CHP program to be held during the summer months and in the academic year.
