Scholarships available for STEM study

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island students pursuing or planning to pursue careers in information technology or in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) can apply for three scholarships totaling $6,500, the Tech Collective announced on March 22.
The scholarships are:

  • $3,000 – Fibertech Networks and Tech Collective. For one female, Rhode Island high school student pursuing a degree in information systems, computer science or another IT field.
  • $1,000 – Lighthouse Computer Services and Tech Collective. For one Rhode Island high school, college, or university student pursuing a degree in the IT, Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems fields. Students must have an affiliation, either directly or through a parent, to the U.S. Military.
  • $2,500 – Doug Schwinn, Tech Collective. For one female or minority high school student pursuing a degree in the IT or STEM fields.
    Applications are due April 22 and can be downloaded on the Tech Collective’s website here. Applicants must be a legal Rhode Island resident or attend a Rhode Island college or university.
