South County Habitat for Humanity gets helping hand from MetLife employees

EXETER – A group of more than 25 employees from Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Co. launched into construction of a duplex house in Exeter recently, a project of South County Habitat for Humanity.

The employees were among the first group of MetLife volunteers, under a new partnership between the insurance company and the nonprofit.

Construction of the house, a two-family, is expected to be completed by Labor Day, according to a news release.

Earlier this year, MetLife announced it would contribute $25,000 to help address the issues of affordable housing in Rhode Island.
