How would you describe the culture of your workplace? We have a culture of integrity, trust and respect. It starts with the ownership structure of our organization. We are owned by a trust and its mission is to make every organizational decision with the best interests of our clients and our employees in mind.
What modifications have you made to your workplace to support employee wellness? Due to COVID-19, much of our education and wellness has had to be delivered virtually. We had great success this year with remote virtual one-on-one sessions with a nutritionist. We held the initial round in the spring and will do so again in the fall so people can track their progress.
How do you support community service work by your employees? Since the pandemic, Starkweather has made monetary donations of more than $40,000 to organizations like the United Way of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Nursing Home Group, Aldersbridge Communities, Hasbro Children’s Hospital/Lifespan Corp., and the Boys & Girls Club to name a few.
