EAST PROVIDENCE – Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc., has launched a health care platform designed to help business owners choose benefits plans, support record keeping and provide data integration, the company said in a release Oct. 27.
The customization tool, called the StarShep Private Exchange, targets middle market employer groups and allows employers to choose from a variety of networks, plans and contribution strategies, the release said.
“This platform allows employers to implement a defined contribution strategy, while providing their employees with many more choices to select a plan option that works for them,” said Jim Moniz Sr., vice president and employee benefits leader at Starkweather Benefits Solutions, according to the release.
The exchange is powered by insurance brokerage group Assurex Global.
Among the platform’s functions are the ability to choose a defined contribution or a defined benefits plan, the option to enroll in a pre-packaged set of benefits, support for Affordable Care Act-required record-keeping and business data integration.
Starkweather & Shepley offers commercial and personal insurance, health and employee benefits, surety bonding and risk management services.
