PROVIDENCE – StrategicPoint Investment Advisors says it has been named one of the top wealth manager firms in the country – in terms of assets under management – by trade publications Financial Advisor and Wealth Manager Magazine.
In separate independent surveys, StrategicPoint appeared in the rankings based on assets under management for 2008. The firm was the only one headquartered in Rhode Island to appear on either survey, according to StrategicPoint.
With $502.11 million under management, StrategicPoint ranked 97th in the country on the Financial Advisor list. Wealth Manager Magazine placed the firm 381st based on assets under management per client, which for StrategicPoint was $403,627.
“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from these respected publications,” said David Brochu, StrategicPoint president and a certified financial planner. “We have always believed that independent financial advice that is focused on clients’ needs has a place in the market, and these rankings validate our approach.”
The Financial Advisor survey showed that StrategicPoint – like most financial advising firms – felt the effects of the turbulent financial markets, with its assets shrinking 23.93 percent in 2008. During the same time period, the number of clients declined 10.76 percent. The Wealth Manager Magazine said the firm had 1,244 clients in 2008 and a staff of 13 professionals.
