Study: Verizon tops in New England

BOSTON – Verizon Wireless ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in New England, in a J.D. Power and Associates study released last week.
It was the 12th consecutive year the telecommunications company topped the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Wireless Call Quality Performance StudySM, which is a survey of more than 26,000 phone subscribers. Users are polled about their experiences with dropped calls, static/interference, failed connections on the first try, voice distortion, echoes, no immediate voicemail notification and text-message notification.
Verizon Wireless has aggressively targeted the New England area, investing more than $2.6 billion in the region over the past 10 years. The company has invested more than $60 billion nationally over that time. •
