Years spent working in the jewelry and fashion industries, a move to New York and return home to Rhode Island all led up to Brianna Moon’s decision to open a store dedicated almost exclusively to her own designs.
She claims creative ownership in the store’s name, Brianna Moon. The 200-square-foot space opened June 28 in Pawtucket’s Hope Artiste Village.
“It’s very cozy and it’s really cute,” Moon said.
She sells a collection of her own handmade jewelry and ready-to-wear clothing, along with vintage pieces that she’s altered.
With a style she describes as a “Parisian, 1960s bohemian mod aesthetic,” Moon, at 5 feet tall, has a special affinity for petite woman who often struggle to find clothes that fit well, but says her clothes are for everyone.
“I really want it to be a place where everybody feels comfortable,” she said.
The designer also plans to begin selling clothing and jewelry at the Providence Flea and Providence Artisans Market and to participate in this year’s StyleWeek Northeast Sept. 19-21.
