How has COVID-19 changed your industry? Banks were required to promote the use of their digital channels or leverage interactive teller machines to continue to serve customers. This resulted in an increase in customer adoption of these channels. Additionally, many banks have utilized technology and embraced hybrid and remote working for their teams, which aids in talent recruitment and employee retention.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Set goals and focus on them. Keep going even when it’s challenging.

Where do you see yourself in five years? I hope to be a chief operating officer at a community bank or credit union.

What was your first job? Working at the public library when I was 14 years old sorting books and putting them on the shelves.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self? Keep perspective, stay positive and focused. Stay calm and patient. Never let your emotions overpower your intelligence.

What is your greatest attribute that you bring to your job? I am a continuous learner. I thrive on learning and mastering new skills and concepts. I am a strong problem solver who thoroughly enjoys figuring out solutions to problems to make an impact across the entire organization.

What led you to pursuing a career in your current industry? I started my banking career as a proof operator, and then a teller right out of high school. I developed a passion for banking at that time, and strived to learn as much as I can about the industry, which has supported my growth.
