Techie Waste and Smithfield High School launch recycle program for Earth Day. The Techie Waste Earth Day event will run throughout the month of April.
Along with helping the environment the Techie Waste fundraiser will generate funds for the Smithfield High School Parent Council. The Parent Council is an active group of volunteers who support academic initiatives, extracurricular activities and student events at Smithfield High School.

Through the collection of retired electronics, like, cell phones, digital cameras, mp3’s, and print cartridges the Techie Waste Program helps raise money without asking for financial contributions and without selling anything. Along with raising money the event will generate awareness of the harm retired handheld electronics can have on the environment when thrown away. Techie Waste helps in the management of retired handheld electronic through their network of recyclers.
